Pre-Service Specialist – patient registration (Lake County, IL) – (Fully Onsite)
Lake County, IL 60045
3 months (extension or perm placement)
Shift:
- 8:00am- 4:30pm Mon-Fri
Overview:
- The Pre Service Specialist is responsible for scheduling and pre registering patients for upcoming healthcare services within a large healthcare system.
Responsibilities:
- Scheduling appointments
- Updating insurance information
- Performing medical necessity checks as appropriate
- Verifying authorizations initiated by physician offices
- Supporting patient check in and check out processes
- Communicating potential financial responsibilities to patients prior to service.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1-2 years customer service experience.
- Proficient in typing.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Healthcare Finance and/or Healthcare Insurance Knowledge.
- Experience in a healthcare setting, especially patient scheduling and/or registration.
- Coding Certification.
- Certified Healthcare Associate Designation (NAHAM).
