Staff Accountant
Location: Chicago – Ravenswood

Role / Responsibilities :

Prepare and analyze cash reconciliations daily for the operating and cash management accounts.
Complete the credit card reconciliation and record credit card purchases
Post recurring ACH, credit card and rent charges monthly for all properties
Maintain clean supporting documentation for all reconciliations
Responsible for performing treasury management functions. Outgoing and internal cash transfers
Recording and analyzing monthly mortgage transactions and updating mortgage worksheet
Recording, posting and filing various sales and liquor tax returns
Assist with the Accounts Payable process – review invoice coding and approvals, and ensure compliance with all appropriate controls that are in place
Assist with annual budget preparation – compile key assumptions and capital budget information, review for reasonableness and ensure timely and accurate entry into the accounting system
Assist with the preparation of the year-end 1099s

Required:

Minimum of 3 – 5 years of Real Estate Accounting experience, preferably in a multi-family environment
Experience with Yardi Software
Experience with Excel – as well as the Microsoft Office Suite
Advanced Excel skills creating and utilizing complex spreadsheets is highly preferred
Experience with Real Estate specific software – Yardi Preferrred
Work Independently
Strong Communication skills – being flexible and available to work with Ownership, Peers, Bankers and Lenders
