AI Project Manager (Fully Onsite – must be local)
Length: 4 months (potential extension)

Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced AI Project Manager to lead complex, enterprise-scale AI/ML initiatives within Elevance Health’s technology ecosystem. This role requires strong project management expertise, deep familiarity with Agile delivery, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, data science, and third-party vendors. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, matrixed environments and has prior experience delivering cloud-native or AI/ML-driven products.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage the full project lifecycle—from initiation to delivery—across multiple concurrent AI product development workstreams.

• Create and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and status reports, while actively managing risks, blockers, and delivery constraints.

• Act as the primary liaison between Elevance Health leadership, engineering teams, UST stakeholders, and third-party partners—ensuring seamless communication.

• Lead Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) to drive disciplined execution across global AI teams.

• Translate complex technical progress into executive-ready updates, roadmaps, and KPIs.

• Coordinate and track deliverables across data science, LLM/NLP engineering, ML Ops, and DevOps teams to ensure deadlines are met.

• Foster collaboration, clarity, and accountability across a multi-vendor ecosystem supporting Elevance Health’s AI strategy.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).

• 5+ years of hands-on project management experience, with a proven track record in complex software or AI/ML product deliveries.
• Certifications: PMP, PMI-ACP, or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) (required).

• 3+ years of experience managing AI/ML or cloud-native product environments.

• 3 years of Agile/Scrum software team management experience.

• Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills across technical and executive levels.

• Ability to manage ambiguity and drive structure in fast-evolving, matrixed environments.
• Healthcare – Familiarity with healthcare data environments, including HIPAA, PHI, payer systems, or healthcare benefit structures.

Preferred Skills

• Healthcare domain experience: Familiarity with HIPAA, PHI, payer systems, or healthcare benefit structures.

• 3+ years working knowledge of AI/ML technologies (e.g., LLMs, NLP, RAG).

• 3+ years experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, and Smartsheet.
