Pre-Service Specialist – patient registration (Lake County, IL) – (Fully Onsite)

Lake County, IL 60045

3 months (extension or perm placement)

Shift: 

• 8:00am- 4:30pm Mon-Fri

Overview:

• The Pre Service Specialist is responsible for scheduling and pre registering patients for upcoming healthcare services within a large healthcare system.

Responsibilities:

• Scheduling appointments
• Updating insurance information
• Performing medical necessity checks as appropriate
• Verifying authorizations initiated by physician offices
• Supporting patient check in and check out processes
• Communicating potential financial responsibilities to patients prior to service.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 1-2 years customer service experience.
• Proficient in typing.

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Healthcare Finance and/or Healthcare Insurance Knowledge.
• Experience in a healthcare setting, especially patient scheduling and/or registration.
• Coding Certification.
• Certified Healthcare Associate Designation (NAHAM).
