Board & Philanthropy Operations Specialist: non-profit (Hybrid- – 3 days onsite- Mon, Tues, and Thurs.)
Cook County, IL 60612
6 months (extension or perm placement)
Shift:
- 8am- 5:00pm
Responsibilities:
1.Prepares and disseminates Board agendas, and reviews and disseminates meeting minutes as prepared by the appropriate committee secretary
2.Maintains all lists and information relevant to the Board and produces the annual directory
3.Assists the VP of Finance and the outside accountants in the financial review/audit process, the appropriations process, and the accurate and timely documentation of gifts received by the Woman’s Board
4.Sends a copy of the pertinent financial statements to the VP of Finance and the President and reconciles the accounts for review by the Woman’s Board accountant each month
5.Prepares office budget in coordination with the EVP Administration
6.Works closely with the Chair of the Membership Committee to oversee the new member recruitment and orientation process
7.Works with the Chairman of the Membership Committee and philanthropy in the planning and execution of the New Member Tour
8.Serves as the primary staff liaison for The Woman’s Board capital campaign in managing the day-to-day activities to assure the information systems, related processes and procedures are efficient, effective, and accurate.
9.Assists the By-Laws and Revisions Committee in addressing any changes to the by-laws, policies, and procedures
10.Serves as a liaison between the Woman’s Board and the department of Philanthropy
11.Supports all of the Woman’s Board hospital committees as needed
12.Updates the Woman’s Board website and social media accounts in conjunction with the Manager, Events & Appeals
13.Shares office administrative tasks with the Manager, Events & Appeals
14.Other duties as assigned.
Required Job Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree required
•A minimum of three years of non-profit experience, including volunteer management and general administrative
•Experience with philanthropy program management including financial tracking, reporting, and bank account oversight.
•Ability to handle multiple projects with overlapping deadlines and respond to shifting priorities
•Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization with poise and professionalism
•High level of attention to detail
•Excellent written and oral communication skills
•Strong proof-reading skills
•Strong analytic and organizational skills
•Resourceful and collaborative approach and strong problem -solving skills
•Demonstrated project management acumen
Preferred Job Qualifications
•Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, QuickBooks, Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM system preferred.
