Coupa Consultant (AIC Implementation) (Fully Remote)
Length: 6 month contract (potential extension)

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Coupa Consultant with strong AIC implementation expertise to serve as a data and procurement systems subject matter expert. This role will support alignment between internal data standards and enterprise systems including Coupa, Portfolio Portal, and ERP platforms.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience in Coupa procurement data structures, taxonomy design, supplier normalization, and classification validation, along with strong technical and functional consulting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement & Data Expertise

  • Serve as a data expert ensuring alignment between internal data standards and enterprise systems (Coupa, ERP, Portfolio Portal).

  • Provide subject matter expertise on procurement data structures and taxonomy.

  • Validate classifications, supplier normalization, and enrichment outputs.

  • Support AIC (Advanced Implementation Configuration) initiatives within Coupa.

  • Identify and improve data quality, governance, and standardization processes.

Technical & Functional Consulting

  • Independently analyze, design, develop, and test system functionalities.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including:

    • Functional Design Specifications

    • Deployment documentation

  • Perform root cause analysis, performance tuning, and technical troubleshooting.

  • Manage client environments and perform installation/configuration activities.

  • Act as single point of contact for build and deployment issues.

  • Manage code/configuration changes post-production deployment.

Process Optimization & Innovation

  • Identify automation opportunities to optimize efficiency, cost, and quality.

  • Improve application/system design by identifying recurring problem patterns.

  • Select appropriate technical options including reuse or reconfiguration of components.

  • Offer recommendations for process improvements and code refactoring.

  • Support agile delivery models and accelerate sprint completion timelines.

Practice & Knowledge Contributions

  • Contribute to ERP/CRM practice initiatives including:

    • Case study content development

    • Knowledge sharing sessions

    • Internal seminars

    • Hackathons participation

  • Mentor junior team members on client discussions and day-to-day technical activities.

  • Stay current with new ERP/CRM releases and implement relevant features proactively.

  • Participate in performance goal setting and progress tracking (NorthStar).

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Coupa Consultant.

  • 3+ years of AIC implementation experience within Coupa.

  • Strong knowledge of procurement data structures and taxonomy.

  • Experience in supplier normalization and classification validation.

  • Experience aligning procurement systems with ERP platforms.

  • Strong troubleshooting and deployment management skills.

  • Experience performing design reviews and peer code reviews.

  • Ability to independently manage client environments.
