Azure DevOps Engineer (Hybrid, 3 days onsite)
Location: Issaquah, WA 98029
Length: 7 months (potential extension)

Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Azure DevOps Engineer to design, automate, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-availability cloud and on-prem infrastructure. This role is critical in supporting CI/CD pipelines, containerized workloads, and enterprise Azure services across development, test, and production environments. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience with Azure, Terraform, Kubernetes, and DevOps automation and thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Responsibilities:

• Configure, maintain, and optimize on-premises and Azure cloud infrastructure to support development, testing, and production workloads.

• Design, implement, and support CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and related tooling.

• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform and scripting languages.

• Deploy integrated and standalone application releases across multiple interconnected environments.

• Troubleshoot and resolve build, deployment, and production issues with a focus on automation and root-cause analysis.

• Support containerized and microservices-based architectures using AKS.

• Maintain and enhance DevOps tooling including Azure Repos, Pipelines, Artifacts, and other Azure DevOps components.

• Develop tool integrations enabling end-to-end traceability from requirements through deployment.

• Implement security best practices including certificate management, encryption, access control, and compliance standards.

• Collaborate with development, QA, and infrastructure teams within Agile delivery models.

• Establish and document DevOps workflows, branching strategies, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Azure DevOps

• 8+ years of experience with CI/CD and automation

• 5+ years of experience provisioning and managing Azure services

• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform 

• Strong experience with Azure DevOps including Repos, Pipelines, and Artifacts

• Deep hands-on experience with:

• AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service)

• Azure AD and App Registrations

• OAuth 2.0

• Azure App Service, Azure Front Door, Application Gateway, VPN Gateway

• Web Application Firewall

• Azure API Management (APIM)

• Azure Cosmos DB and Durable Functions

• Strong scripting skills using PowerShell, Bash, and/or Python

• Experience with containerization and microservices architectures

• Experience with APIs and Web Services

• Working knowledge of networking concepts including LAN, WAN, DNS, routing, firewalls, load balancers, and system monitoring

• Working knowledge of XML, JSON, and Infrastructure as Code concepts

• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies
